Department: Industrial and Modular Sales | Reports to: Craig, Sales Manager

Location: Home-based in the Eastern/Southeastern U.S.; Atlanta posting hub

Schedule: Full time; customer and territory travel

Position Summary

Elevated Industrial Solutions supplies industrial and building products to manufacturers across a range of industries. The Outside Sales Representative builds new business by prospecting, opening plant accounts, and developing lasting customer relationships. Target customers include manufactured, modular, and workforce housing producers. Products include flooring, windows, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, doors, appliances, and general construction materials. Success depends on established industry relationships, knowledge of plant purchasing cycles and product specifications, and coordination of reliable supply with internal teams and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build new business across the Eastern and Southeastern United States through prospecting, referrals, industry relationships, and customer visits. Open new plant accounts, grow profitable sales, and meet assigned sales and gross profit goals.
  • Sell and cross-sell flooring, windows, HVAC systems, doors, appliances, and general construction materials based on customer production requirements and approved product specifications.
  • Call regularly on plant purchasing managers, plant managers, and engineering or design staff to understand production schedules, specification changes, material needs, and upcoming product changeovers.
  • Prepare quotes, coordinate pricing agreements, and manage bids and product specification processes for new home models or material changes. Obtain approval for pricing and terms beyond assigned authority.
  • Partner with vendors and manufacturer representatives to introduce products and maintain product knowledge. Coordinate applicable product documentation for HUD requirements and the International Residential Code or International Building Code, as relevant to the customer’s application.
  • Coordinate with inside sales, logistics, warehouse teams, and vendors on inventory availability, lead times, and delivery schedules to support customer production lines. Confirm commitments before communicating delivery dates.
  • Address order, delivery, and quality issues promptly. Coordinate corrective action with the appropriate teams and keep customers informed through resolution.
  • Maintain accurate account, sales activity, pipeline, and forecast records in company systems. Monitor competitor pricing and activity and share relevant market information with leadership.
  • Attend industry trade shows and manufacturer training as needed. Follow company and customer site safety requirements and complete related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • At least three years of successful outside sales experience, including sales to manufactured or modular housing plants. Established industry relationships and demonstrated success prospecting, winning new accounts, and growing profitable business are required.
  • Working knowledge of flooring, windows, HVAC systems, appliances, doors, and other construction materials used in residential or factory-built construction.
  • Understanding of production-line purchasing cycles, product specification and approval processes, and delivery requirements.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage a multistate territory independently, plan efficient travel, and follow through on customer needs and sales commitments.
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management software and basic quoting and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and authorization to drive for company business. Follow company vehicle policies and promptly report license restrictions or changes affecting driving eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple product categories, product specification changes, and supplier coordination in factory-built housing production.
  • Familiarity with HUD requirements and regulations affecting manufactured housing materials; experience as a manufacturer representative or distributor sales representative.

Travel and Work Environment

Home-based near customers in the Eastern or Southeastern United States. Atlanta is the initial recruiting hub; qualified candidates elsewhere in the region are welcome. Approximately 50% travel is anticipated, including driving, customer visits, air travel, and overnight stays. Actual travel and territory will depend on customer locations and business needs. A company vehicle and equipment needed for the role will be provided. Customer and warehouse visits may involve machinery, noise, dust, and material handling operations. Follow site rules and wear required personal protective equipment.

Essential activities include driving, sitting, standing, walking through customer facilities, using a computer or mobile device, reviewing equipment and specifications, and communicating with customers and coworkers. These duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual base salary: $70,000–$90,000, depending on relevant experience, plus commissions under the company’s standard sales commission plan. Target total annual earnings: $135,000–$155,000 once the territory is established, depending on sales performance. Target earnings are not guaranteed; first-year earnings depend on pipeline development, closed business, and eligible collected gross profit.

Commission opportunity is uncapped. Commission eligibility, account attribution, gross profit calculations, and payment timing are governed by the company’s written sales commission plan.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with selected employee-only plan options available at $0 monthly premiums. Dependent coverage is available at additional cost; deductibles, copays, and other costs for care apply.
  • Employer-paid basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage, with voluntary life, disability, and supplemental insurance options.
  • Empower 401(k) plan with a 3% company safe harbor contribution, subject to plan terms, whether or not the employee contributes.
  • Vacation, eight paid holidays including the employee’s birthday, and paid sick leave under applicable company policy and state requirements.
  • Employee Assistance Program and eligible savings and spending accounts.

Eligibility, enrollment, contributions, and coverage are governed by current plan documents and company policies. Benefits may change. Commission eligibility, calculations, and payment terms will be provided in the approved written compensation plan.
